As reported in part I of MR#14, I
had written the military commanders of the Army War College, the Command &
General Staff College, West Point Service Academy and the Special
Operations Command. Having received no
response by 1 August 2007 I wrote follow-up
letters to MG David H. Hutton, Jr. (War College Commandant), General Bryan
Brown (CG of the US Special Operations Command) who has since been replaced by
Admiral Eric T. Olson, LTG Franklin L. Hagenbeck (West Point Superintendent), and
MG William B. Caldwell IV (CG US Army Combined Arms Center). Thus far none of these ranking officers have
responded. Only Colonel Thomas W. Weafer, Assistant Deputy Commandant of the
U.S. Army Command and General Staff College has written what I consider to be a
letter of little value inasmuch as he does not relate to actions taken by the
Commanding General in response to my communications with him of 16 June 2007
and 1 August 2007: all to do with our government's aiding the enemy and the
killing of our own personnel.

It was to be a time of solemn remembrance that summer afternoon in 1988 when
I stepped through the doors of the Special Warfare Museum
on Smoke Bomb Hill at Fort Bragg, North
Carolina. I wanted to revisit my past, to reflect on
that time when I was a part of a very special organization that would and could
tackle any mission, anytime, anywhere, even against overwhelming odds and get
the job done. Our motto was "The impossible just takes a little longer.”

I was enjoying the many and varied exhibits in that small, but awesome
collection of unconventional warfare memorabilia until I was stopped in my
tracks by an exhibit designed to honor General William C. Westmoreland. I
understand fully that one should not despise another, but I own up to despising
that military man who, by his own inaction and lack of integrity and courage
before the U.S. Congress and his military superiors, aided and abetted the
enemy in the Vietnam
conflict, the same enemy that had killed my four best friends.

This is about the Special Forces Medic: the Sergeant in the Green Beret who
often is called to perform as the sole provider of medical, dental and hygienic
training support and treatment to the men of his team and even hundreds of
irregular fighters, dependents and civilians alike when serving on an operational
mission.

General William C. Westmoreland, in his ©1976 book, A
Soldier Reports, (Doubleday & Company New York) tells the reader,
“Under a panel of glass on my desk from the time I assumed command in Saigon I
kept a quotation from Napoleon Bonaparte: ‘A commander-in-chief cannot take as
an excuse for his mistakes in warfare an order given by his sovereign or his
minister, when the person giving the order is absent from the field of
operations and is imperfectly aware or wholly unaware of the latest state of
affairs. It follows that any commander-in-chief who undertakes to carry out a
plan which he considers defective is at fault; he must put forward his reasons,
insist on the plan being changed, and finally tender his resignation rather
than be the instrument of his army’s downfall.’”

In that same book, he writes, “The
enemy’s obvious use of Cambodia as a sanctuary and the refusal of Washington authorities to allow me to do anything about it was
frustrating.” For me that was General Westmoreland’s personal admission of what
I consider cowardly behavior. Not only General Westmoreland, but every general
or admiral between him and the White House who refused to stand up to those who
would deny our fighting men and those of the allies a fair chance on the
battlefield were guilty of aiding the enemy. Why wasn’t there a torrent of
resignations when those who led our forces in battle recognized that the
President and the Congress were aiding and abetting the enemy?

Forces: First to take the war into Cambodia

             Everything
to do with my first six months as commander of Special Forces Team A-424,
situated on the Cambodian Border in the district of An Phu had been an
unconventional experience.            It
was late December in 1965 when I accepted the Top Secret mission that would
allow me and my team of Green Berets to take the war into sovereign Cambodian
territory for the first time in that war, I naively thought all the others
would follow as we proved successful. LTC William Tuttle, the commander of all
Special Forces units in the IV Tactical Corps, looked me in the eye and told me
that we would be “on our own” no matter what we faced once inside Cambodia.
There would be no support from our higher headquarters.

            “Not
even medical evacuation?” I asked. Almost nose to nose with me, he replied, “If
you accept, you are on your own." There would  be no support inside Cambodia.
"Once you walk out that door, it will be as if we never met. Understand?”

Psychological Operations

We were taught the fundamentals of psychological warfare operations by
military instructors on Smoke Bomb Hill at Fort Bragg,
North Carolina in the spring of 1964 using
their own personal experience and Department of the Army Field Manual 31-21
Guerrilla Warfare and Special Forces Operations, dated 29 September 1961 as relevant references.

“Unconventional warfare,” we read in chapter 9 of FM 31-21, “involves
ideological, religious, political and social factors which promote intense,
emotional partisanship. Resistance organizations tend to attract personnel who
accept violent change as a means of social action; they are motivated by hope
for change. But, the fluid nature of resistance activity, the alternate periods
of isolation and combat, the surreptitious life make resistance personnel
particularly susceptible to propaganda affects.

Civic Action: The Building of Loyalty & Trust

Before I get into the meat of this report I would like to
introduce you to a very special website and a real hero of mine. Major Glenn MacDonald has voluntarily assumed
the role of a modern day crusader for justice.
Every day he goes up against those who would undermine law and order
within the military establishment. It is those who, through use of devious or
downright illegal actions to protect persons of rank, that deny the victims of
their actions justice in the truest sense of the word. Perhaps I am
particularly concerned because I have two grandsons in the military and would
want Major MacDonald, a man of courage and unquestioned integrity working with
other brave men and women to help rid the "System" of evil men and
women who are not mentally equipped to lead our troops.

It was
three days before Christmas in 1965 when I headed for South
Vietnam with 63 other Green Beret volunteers
aboard a plush Southern Air Transport jetliner out of Seattle,
Washington.
We were enjoying the perks offered by the CIA in their own aircraft with
pretty stewardesses, excellent food, drink and John Wayne movies! We knew not what was in store for us once we
hit the ground in Saigon and were then flown to the 5^th
Special Forces Group Headquarters in Nha Trang, but we were all there because
we wanted to be and because we were looking for a real challenge.

I fought in two wars and I have two grandsons who
are combat veterans
of the Iraq War. One is Air Force security man and the other
is an Army paratrooper, once wounded in action and now back in Iraq
with his buddies. Our armed forces are the bravest and the best and we need to
back them in what they do.

In the fall of 1964 Special Forces Master Sergeant Joseph Hill and I were selected by General William Yarborough's Special Warfare
Center headquarters to finalize the
testing of newly designed tubular-frame rucksacks and armor insole jungle
boots. Actual laboratory work would be accomplished by engineers at Natick
Laboratories located just west of Boston
not far from Fort Devens, Massachusetts.
MSG Joe and I would secure the rucksacks, filled with 55-70 lbs of rations,
supplies and clothing, to our parachute harness, board an Army single-engine
Otter aircraft and jump out at 1200 feet above a drop zone located at nearby Fort
Devens, Massachusetts.

Some of the most interesting, even fascinating, subjects taught us in
the Special Warfare School Officer's Course in the spring of 1964 were included
in the special demolition techniques portion of training. The "ear muff" charge was taught by
way of a dramatic demonstration that left no doubt in our minds of its unique
nature and explosive effectiveness. Instructors would diametrically oppose two
identical charges of plastic explosives (C-4) on a round bridge support column,
arming each with an identical detonator and attaching equal lengths of lead
wire to the one detonating device. When the device was triggered both charges would
explode simultaneously, sending the force of the explosion into the center of
the column from opposing directions. When those forces collided in the middle
of the column, as was surely demonstrated, the column itself seemed to explode
outwardly from its own center with sufficient force to destroy it. The earmuff
charge was designed to be used on wood and concrete columns or trusses, etc.

boiling and, unless you are a mild-mannered Mr. Milquetoast, your body
functioning in whatever way you so decide to do your part in helping bring
those to justice who not only inspired and developed, but perpetrated some of
the most heinous political crimes of the past century including the
cold-blooded murders of President John F. Kennedy, Lt. Cmdr. William Bruce
Pitzer and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

     What would you do if you knew that our government was lying
about the greatest crime of your time and a dear friend who had shown you proof of this government’s cover-up died

retired military and CIA officers who agree that there was indeed a conspiracy
to assassinate President Kennedy and that the United States does indeed use
assassination and terrorism as a tool of statecraft. .

People
should know who and where I was when, like a human robot, I eagerly and without
question participated directly as an "operative" in government
sponsored illegal activities perpetrated by certain powers against any
individual, government or activity who would attempt to disrupt the absolute rule
of our "hierarchy."

Documented
and corroborated testimony of what I had done during 21 years of military
service that was of an evil or illegal nature now serve as the foundation of my
crusades against evil in our government.
I care because the truth matters.
Those of us who want to must act courageously and with integrity to
communicate what we have experienced, to include direct first-hand knowledge of
what happened in Dallas on 22 November 1963 and in succeeding days, months and
years, as those same forces within our government who conspired to kill our
president continue to do what is "necessary" to silence those who
would bring forth evidence to prove the who, what, when and where of the conspiracy
and to judiciously disrupt actions taken to cover them up.

The Associated Press April 18 2006 news
release "FBI Wants Access to Dead Writer's Papers" by Associated
Press writer MARK SHERMAN, sparked my interest. 
It seems that some 38 years ago my interest was jolted by another story
with Jack Anderson's name tied to it, but as co-author with Drew Pearson of a
Washington Post Dec 10, 1968 article Thais Given Taste of Revolution.

                In
that article these two well-respected authors write unequivocally "Neither the Army nor the CIA is permitted in
Thailand to operate its own counter-insurgency outfit. There no special forces,
no Green Berets."
